HeartCaring
HeartCaring Website

HeartCaring is a nationwide outreach program with a focus on a gender-specific approach to cardiovascular disease. It is supported with education from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. The American Vascular Association is also a primary partner in the project. HeartCaring uses a three-prong approach that includes hospitals, clinicians and patients. This program is geared toward hospital employees and physician practices, especially family physicians and OB-GYNs, who then work to educate women ages 25 and over on risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Women should look for the Heartcaring logo to know their provider has been trained.

DRMC's Women's Behavioral Health Initiative - Caring for Your Emotional Health During and After Your Pregnancy.

Pregnancy and the days following are an exciting and sometimes difficult time for new mothers. All of the normal changes at this time can lead to a change in mood or depression. DRMC's Behavioral Health Department, along with the staff of DRMC Maternity Department and the OB GYN doctors, recognizes the impact that depression can have on women during and after pregnancy. By screening for depression during this time and providing prompt treatment and supportive therapy, women can get back to normal and begin feeling better as quickly as possible. If you are experiencing depression, anxiety or unusual thoughts, call (814) 375-6379 and ask to speak with a member of the Women's Mental Health Team.
