Behavioral Health Services / Adult Inpatient Mental Health Services

For adults suffering from behavioral health problems.

24 hrs a day/seven days a week

Program Details
Intensive psychotherapies, nursing and educational services make up the therapeutic core of the adult program, which treats an array of behavioral health problems ranging from affective disorders to schizophrenia, personality disorders and organic brain syndromes. The fundamental goals of the program are to re-establish emotional and cognitive stability, enhance self-confidence, instill and reinforce coping capabilities, and initiate a plan of post-hospital care to complete and sustain recovery. Family members are integrated into the care plan to help in their understanding of the illness, and for their contributions toward recovery. Patents are seen daily by a psychiatrist as well as by a member of the care team.

The Unit
The Adult Unit is located within the East Unit of DuBois Regional Medical Center. The Unit contains 28 private and semi-private bedrooms and living, dining and recreational areas.

Family Involvement
We believe family involvement is crucial to successful assessment and treatment. As part of our clinical program, we invite families to participate in family therapy sessions with the patient's consent.

Clinical Program
Referrals to the Adult Unit can be made by employers, community mental health agencies, physicians, family and patients themselves. Comprehensive face-to-face evaluations are provided by trained staff via the Behavioral Health Department. In cases where the assessment determines that inpatient treatment is not necessary, an outpatient psychiatric referral is provided for the patient.
